A sunny, calm day was perfect for surveying. Several lots of small tortoiseshell caterpillars feeding in the nettles. Pleased to find an emerald damselfly. A hobby was feeding low over the field and one sedge warbler singing high in a small willow. A whitethroat had a tasty morsel – a dark bush-cricket.
