Youth Groups
The nature reserve here at Ramsey Heights offers the perfect setting for visiting youth groups such as Youth Clubs, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to explore the natural environment in relation to badges or awards being worked on. Our outdoor area is perfect for evening meetings and campfires, our new outdoor shelter provides great opportunities for discussions and learning under a little more cover, and can be combined with walks and activities on the reserve to offer an ideal offsite experience. We also have an indoor classroom space with toilet facilities.
Explore our beautiful reserve with your group and take part in a high-quality, fun, interactive activity session led by a Wildlife Trust BCN staff member, suitable for Scouting and Guiding at all levels. Sessions can be run just for fun or with a certain badge or theme in mind.
Activities are varied and can include pond-dipping, bug hunting, den building, nature art, sweep netting and bat detecting. This is not an exhaustive list and many activities will depend on the time of year and weather but we can adapt to suit your objectives.
We recommend booking your session in April, May, September or October when we’ll have greatest availability.
We can’t wait to see you here!
How do I book?
We recommend you bring your usual number of leaders and helpers, depending on the number of children and if you would like to visit our reserve beforehand to see our facilities you would be more than welcome. Please call us on 01487 815524 or e-mail: info@greatfen.org.uk for details of how to book a visit.
